A little rant

Today I was sitting in the back seat with Levi and was having a day dream about my whole pregnancy. Every single day at least once September 29th pops into my head. I've explained it in words what happened but unless you actually felt the physical and emotional pain I went through on that day you have no clue what it was like.

It reallllllly irritates me when people try to down play what happened or act like it wasn't a big deal or act like they've gone through worse. Which I'm sure some people have. Certain people just really work my nerves about this whole subject. I'm sorry that you don't have a piece of string holding your child in you.

I didn't choose to be on bed rest. Nor did I choose to have my son premature. I'm sorry that life happens and I had to deal with what I was handed. And I think I dealt with it pretty well.

I thank god that I have my beautiful baby boy. Laying on a table being told that you aren't sure whether he is going to make it or not. And then again being told that numerous times the next few weeks isn't something to take lightly. So the fact that I even made it to 35 weeks was a miracle. And what is even more of a miracle is that he was born with nothing wrong. He never once had to go to the nicu. So when I here people say you need to go full term I just wanna smack em. I mean do I look stupid. That's obvious that you would want a full term baby but some people aren't that lucky.

So before you say rude comments or a comment that you may not even think is rude you should probably stop and think about whether it may offend someone else. I try to be nice to every person I meet but sometimes it's just not possible. I've gotten stepped on my entire life and sometimes I just feel the need to put certain people in their place. Lately I've done it quite often. And I know I'm not perfect and I've said things but it was because I felt disrespected and talked to like I just described. For someone to make a rude comment and hurt you are they really your friend anyway. 

Probably not.

P.s. According to the baby center growth chart Levi is actually ahead of where he should be. And all of his measurements are normal. So take that haters.

Fun Day!

Today was super pretty out. It's been in the 80s and sunny here lately. Today it was 83 and hot! I got off work at 1:30 and went home to play with Levi. I had a client come in and tell me about a nursery(for plants) that was just down the road so we decided to go eat a late lunch and then go and see what they had for flowers. We've been to Lowe's and Home Depot and their flowers suck so far. What flowers they do have look dead already. We've already started our vegetable garden but we wanted some hanging baskets. I immediately saw this one...

I've never seen these kind of flowers before. Don't even remember what they are called but they almost look like tiny roses. I loved the pale yellow color and had to have them. They were a little pricier than what I would normally pay for outdoor flowers. But for the amount of flowers that is just in one basket would equal to 4 or 5 of the baskets you would find else where. The other one we got has pink, yellow and coral flowers in it. We have our patio fixed up so cute. The string of lights in the picture are 20ft long and connected to a pole at the other end and at night we turn them on. Plus at the other end of the patio we have a lattice where the vegetable are growing and then we have 2 hanging baskets on the fence with these in it...

They are Hyacinth. We have them in pink and blue. They are super pretty and smell amazing. Plus we have our patio furniture which we will be getting some new stuff soon too. So far it's been really fun to sit outside at night. And I'm glad we have the time to actually enjoy it.

And why are people so clueless sometimes. We were at Lowe's getting potting soil and other stuff and this lady called him a she. This happens all the time but he was wearing this outfit and had a blue pacifier in his mouth. Not to mention his car seat he was in is brown and like a teal color. Really??

I can't wait for this summer and for the pools to open. Levi loves water and is going to be the perfect age to where he is starting to play and laugh. Tomorrow we may go see about joining the Ymca by us so I can take him swimming in the indoor pool.

3 Months!

My little boy is 3 months old today! Love him! He woke up this morning smiling and laughing.

After his bath he fell asleep. He's awake now. Blake is playing peek-a-boo with him and he's cracking up lol

Sunday

So what I thought was a toothache is actually a sinus infection. I've never had one before so I had no clue. All I know is my whole head hurts! Esp my left eye! I finally got antibiotics and she put me on Flonase. Hopefully it starts working fast because this is no fun!

As I was typing the first paragraph Levi was watching tv....

Then I look over 2 seconds later and he's doing this....

Silly boy. He just had his bath and was tired I guess. He smiles in his sleep and I think all babies do it but his hands go flying and it scares him.

Levi Update

Yesterday we were finally able to take Levi to the doctor for his 2 month check up. We had issues with his insurance for what seems like ever and finally got it fixed. He was a little past due since he is almost 3 months but at least we finally got it taken care of. He had to get 3 shots and one taken orally. He sucked the oral one down fast! The other shots he hated! He got pricked a lot when he was younger from having his jaundice levels done every week but he hasn't had a shot since he was born. So needless to say he screamed! They stuck 2 in his left leg and one in his right leg. Which she said the one in the right leg would sting. Poor baby! He cried for maybe 5 minutes and was asleep by the time we got out to the car. He was fine for the next couple of hours and then he became fussy. We gave him a small dose of the baby tylenol just in case. They said he could run a fever which he never ended up doing.

We had plans on his first ever babysitter watching him last night but had to cancel because as soon as we got in the car he screamed bloody murder. Daddy was holding him and about cried he felt so bad for him. It is sooo nice to have Blake around and watch how loving he is with his son. I know a ton of people that aren't as fortunate. So for that I am thankful!

He got measured for height and weight while we were there. Just a few weeks ago when we took him for his cold he weighed 12 lbs 7 ounces and now he weighs 12 pounds 13 ounces. He is also 22 1/2 inches long. His head and weight measurements are average but his height is only in the 6th percentile. Poor baby has no chance at being tall with me only being 5'2" and his dad is 5'4".  My dad and brothers are tall though so who knows. Maybe he will have a growth spurt when he gets older.

We still aren't sure about his eye color. Sometimes they are like a grey/blue and then sometimes they almost look green. Blake thinks they're going to end up being green.

Today Levi's cousin Brody came over to play. He's 10 months old and is crawling. He is the funniest baby I have ever seen! If he turns out anything like his dad(my brother) we're in trouble! He knows how to wave Hi and he gives kisses but he attacks you! He has two bottom teeth and tries to bite! He can stand if you hold his hands but hasn't figured out the whole walking thing yet. I can't wait until Levi is that age!

Levi has been a happy camper today. Dad even got him to giggle earlier from tickling him. I on the other hand have had a major allergy attack and it won't go away! This will be week number 2. At first I had a cold with it and now I have a tooth ache so my head has been pounding since yesterday! I bought a neti pot thinking it would help my sinus pressure but as long as I have a tooth ache nothing will help. So we gotta get that fixed asap! Plus I chopped off 10 inches of my hair today! Felt soooo good. It grew like a weed while I was prego and I was gonna leave it long to curl and stuff but between Levi and working I don't have the time or patience to mess with it. Plus it has been super hot so I end up putting it in a ponytail anyway! Not it's off my neck and feels so much better!

Levi's next appointment is May 11th. I think his doctor said he has to get 2 more shots then. Poor baby! I'm gonna make sure I give him Tylenol before we go this time!

So Big!

It's amazing how fast babies change. I've heard it a million times but when you see it happen to your own baby it's just crazy! Within the last week I've noticed a big difference.  He's bigger for one. He's growing into his chub and is a lot longer. He's realizing he has arms and legs. He kicks all the time and will even kick you. And he takes  his hand and puts it in a fist and sucks on his first finger. He even makes lip smacking noises when he does it. 

I always say Hi Baby...he gets the biggest smile and almost laughs. He smiles allllll the time. He tries to do the baby talk and makes baby noises now other than crying. He really doesn't cry unless he's telling you he's hungry or like today he's been awake since 7:30 this morning and it's a little after 8pm now and he just fell asleep. But he gets fussy because he's so tired and tries to stay awake. He's been in size 1 diapers for awhile but within no time we're gonna need size 2. 

He no longer fits in newborn clothes. He wears 0-3 months and even some stuff that's 3 months. I hate the sizing on baby clothes. Each brand is different. Like today he wore an outfit that is 6 months. My favorite is Gerber onesies or anything Carter.

He's drinking 4 ounces every 3 hours. Unless it's night time then he sleeps longer. He only wakes up twice a night to eat. Sometimes we get lucky and he only wakes up once. 

We were at Target yesterday getting his Easter outfit and this lady said he looks like a Gerber baby. Everywhere we go little old ladies stop and talk to him and say how pretty he is. I guess that's why he gets mistaken for a girl even when he's wearing blue!

I'm so glad he's out of the newborn stage. Love babies but I'm loving the stage he's getting to now. He's freaking cute!

Levi's 1st St. Patrick's Day!

Levi's 1st Vacation!

We decided with short notice to take a quick vacation to Ft. Walton/Destin, Fl. We left Tuesday morning and came back Thursday morning. It was short but we had a ton of fun and was able to relax!

Little mans cold is pretty much gone but now I have it and it's horrible! I have a cold, upper respiratory infection and allergies! Blah! But anyway....Back to our vacation...

We stayed at the Four Seasons in Ft. Walton. Loved the hotel! It had a hot tub and 2 pools that were heated. It also had a couple of restaurants in it. And the best part was that it was right on the beach. Our room didn't have an ocean view but it was still like 10 feet away.

The first day Levi was fussy because he got hot when we were in one of the shops at the Boardwalk. So we didn't end up going to the beach or the pool that day. We ate lunch at The Crab Trap at the Boardwalk, had Ice Cream and then Levi threw up his bottle. So we headed back the hotel. For dinner we were looking for a place to eat and I told Blake to just keep driving. It didn't look like anything was down the road but it was actually Destin and there was a ton of stuff. We had never been so I was kinda clueless where everything was!

While in Destin looking for a place to eat we ended up at The Harbour Walk Village. It was pretty neat. You could rent boats and shop there. They also had a few places to eat but they were like a 45 minute wait and we weren't all about that with a little baby!

It's across the street from Harbour Walk Village. It's actually a huge restaurant but the Thursday before we came they opened a pizza place attached to it. They have the best pizza ever! We ended up going back the next night too.

The next day we slept in and then went to lunch at The Fisherman's Warf. They had really good food and service!

Sick Baby

Poor Levi has a cold :( We took him to the doctor yesterday because I was paranoid that it was going to turn into something worse than a cold. He's congested and has a cough. We already have a humidifier. I use the saline spray and the booger sucker thing. And I even turned the shower on really hot and sat in there with him to let the steam clear him up but it really didn't help either. He got weighed and little hefer weighs 12.7 pounds already! He's in the 52nd percentile for his weight. Not bad for being 5 weeks premature! The doctor said I could give him a small dose of acetaminophen or a small dose of benadryl. I hope it goes away soon because he is extra fussy!

I wish the weather would decide on what it wants to do! It's suppose to be 78 all this week! And.....I'm off Tuesday, Wednesday and don't have to work until Thursday night so I think we're gonna make a quick trip down to the beach! We sooo need a break! Blake had a change in work plans so on April 15th he starts school for Criminal Justice!

I went to the doctor this week also. I have the funniest doctor ever! He cracked me up during my delivery and I had to get my yearly check up so as he was doing it they were making fun of Hilary Clinton. Hahaha! He said he would call  me when the results come back in about my cervix. Crossing my fingers that my stupid cervix is doing what it should be doing!

Last night we went to dinner with Blake's sister, her bf and her 2 kids. And then we met their dad and step mom at the bar where they were singing Karaoke. I haven't been out in sooooo long! It was the funniest thing I have ever seen! Blake's dad got down on some James Brown! The crowd was mostly older but it was sooo funny!

Cuteness!

Levi started sucking on his hand hence the teething post last week. I was finally able to record him doing it.  I think it's so cute.

And little boy was drinking 4 ounces every 3 hours but ever since yesterday he's been kinda out of whack and wanting to eat more so now we're going to try 5 ounces and see if that helps. It's so hard figuring all of this stuff out. I got the whole figuring out what he wants when he cries down. The cries are different for eating, being tired and changing his diaper. The worst is when he's tired. Like right now. He's been awake since 5 and is fighting sleep. The cutest thing ever is how much he smiles in his sleep. And I mean big smiles. At least he's having happy dreams!  

Tomorrow I have my 2 month check up post giving birth. I guess he's gonna check my cervix and make sure it healed okay. He can have it for all I care! And at the last visit he put me on birth control since I don't plan on having anymore babies. TMI but Aunt Flo is officially back :( I really hate her!

Change of plans

We got back from Oklahoma Wednesday or I guess technically Thursday close to 1am. You don't realize how much you miss the state you live in until you're gone for 3 weeks. I'd have to say Tennessee is the prettiest state ever to live in. Warm weather, beautiful trees, mountains, tons of things to do and I can not wait until they open the new park that Dolly Parton is building!! And not to mention our mall that got flooded over a year ago is opening this month! Super excited!

About the change of plans....I go back to work on Tuesday! After being home for 8 weeks with Levi and those last 3 being bored outta my mind with nothing to do, I'm not sure that I was really cut out to be a stay at home mom. I'm not gonna be at the same salon I was at before but this one is just as close and I already know most of the people there anyway so it works out. Not sure of my hours yet but being a Hairstylist you don't ever work 'normal' hours anyway. I think I may be rotating with another girl to work one week part time and then the next full time. Works for me!

I can not wait for summer! I love summers in Tennessee. It's normally always sunny and it's so much hotter here than Ohio and especially Oklahoma. Have I mentioned how much I HATE that state! Thank god we don't have to move there.

I tried to schedule an appointment for Levi's 2 month check up....well. They asked if I had got his insurance cards in the mail yet because after 30 days he's on his own I guess. I told them I wasn't sure because I'd been gone for 3 weeks. So the lady said she would call and see if he was in the system. I got a call yesterday saying they never added him to my insurance! WTH! So she faxed over the papers and I have to wait to hear from her. Why do people slack on their jobs!

Little boy has been out of his normal routine lately. He normally wakes up at 6pm and stays awake until at least mid night if not later. Well last night he was awake close to 5pm and then fell asleep at 9:30pm after his bottle. And slept until 1:30am!! And then he fell back asleep until 5:30am. And now he's just wide awake sitting in his boppy watching cartoons. I love a happy baby. With this stupid weather his nose has been stuffy. Thank god for humidifiers, baby saline spray and the booger getter.

Two of my friends are pregnant! One is having a boy and the other hasn't found out yet. Since I have no intentions on having anymore. I have someone that I can give my baby stuff too. I'm keeping all of his cute baby clothes because I plan on making this....
